Torrance, Calif., January 22, 2002…..Pacific Image Electronics’ PrimeFilm 1800AFL film scanner has captured the
coveted TechTV’s Best of CES award in the Photography and Imaging category. The TechTV Best of CES awards recognize
and honor the most outstanding new consumer technology products in twelve categories that debuted at the 2002 International
CES (Consumer Electronics Show) held last week in Las Vegas, Nev. Over 2,000 exhibitors displayed their products at this
year’s show.
“Pacific Image saw a need in the marketplace for low price-point film scanners with professional quality features to
digitize consumers’ vast collections of negative and slide film,” says Dan Tseng, U.S. operations director for Pacific
Image Electronics. “We are pleased that our efforts to bring quality low-cost film scanners to the consumer market has
been recognized and honored with TechTV’s Best of CES award.”
Auto Film Loading Capability at a Low Price-Point
PrimeFilm 1800AFL film scanner is the first film scanner that automatically loads and feeds 35mm film strips and roll
film at a price that consumers and professionals alike will appreciate.
The PF 1800AFL is a powerful, high-efficiency image digitizing tool targeted to meet the needs of Web page creators,
Mac & PC users, amateur photographers, traditional photographers moving into digital photography, and even mid-range
business users. Its automatic film loader allows the user walk-away convenience to handle other projects while the film
is being scanned. With a special launch price of $299 until March 31, 2002, the PF 1800AFL can be used for everything
from preparing photos for intricate graphic design projects to digitizing the family photo album with very little effort.
The PrimeFilm 1800AFL is the latest in a growing family of low price-point, high quality film scanners designed to meet
the needs of the consumer and professional markets.
“We were really impressed with all the finalists this year,” says Jim Louderback, TechTV’s vice president of editorial,
and coordinator of the contest. “The competition was tough, but we know consumers will really love the new products that
we awarded this year."
